I encountered numerous complex challenges that demanded practical and creative solutions. One noteworthy example was a shortage of conservation-related games in the fun corner in the magazine's kids' section when the current edition of Forester was being created. Because of the sensitive nature of the magazine, it's not typically our responsibility to take on such significant tasks, unfortunately. However, my colleagues and I quickly organized ourselves and produced a number of amusing sections, including a word search, jumble words, a snakes and ladder game, facts, and more, all under the subject matter of forest conservation which with the supervisors' consent, were added to the magazine. I completed a variety of tasks, including: Research and analysis: At the request of my superiors, I was able to do many studies on climate change and forest preservation in particular. Social media management: I oversaw several social media sites, including Facebook and X, and I looked for any news concerning the Kenya Forest Service on these sites. Media relations: I researched and wrote summaries for various news stories, primarily those centred on climate change. Monitoring and evaluation: I participated in the monitoring and assessment process for numerous initiatives as well as for input on various social media sites. Content Creation: I created content on climate change in response to instructions from my superiors. Stakeholder management: At the many KFS-sponsored events, I had the chance to speak with a variety of stakeholders, find out more about their opinions of the organization's work to save forests, and get their feedback. Visual communication: I created several graphics that were used in the most recent Forester magazine issue. Photography: I shot and processed a variety of photos for occasions organized and sponsored by the Kenya Forest Service. Show less
