      •Lead Chemist for the lab’s 7890A Agilent Technology Gas Chromatography (GC) system that utilizes an electrolytic conductivity detector (ELCD) and photoionization detector (PID) in tandem to analyze samples for 59 volatile organic compounds. Major duties and responsibilities include; making all QC needed (standards and external standards), proficiency testing bi-annually for all 59 compounds, composing an annual method detection limit (MDL) study, keeping a running historical results spreadsheet on Excel of all data, and assembling final report to be sent to ECUA water production department and/or Florida Department of Environmental Protection monthly.• Analyze drinking, surface, and saline waters as well as domestic and industrial wastes for Ammonia (EPA 350.1), Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (EPA 351.2), Nitrate-Nitrite (EPA 353.2), and Total Phosphorous (EPA 365.1) using Lachat Quik Chem Auto Analyzer (QuikChem 8500, series 2) and Seal Analytical AQ400. All pH changes, dilutions, digestions (autoclave & Lachat digestion block), and filtering (glass fiber filters) are conducted as needed on samples. Analysis of Orthophosphate (SM 4500P-E) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (EPA 410.4) of water samples via spectrophotometer.• Utilize Metrohm 916 Ti-Touch equipment to analyze samples for Alkalinity (SM 2320B) and Chloride (SM 4500 Cl D) weekly.• Microbiological testing on drinking, waste, recreational (marine and fresh), and reuse waters. Analytes testing for include, total coliforms (Colilert) , specifically fecal coliforms (Colilert-18) like E. coli and fecal streptococci, specifically Enterococci.•Use ArcGIS and Vantage Points to create and read maps of any infrastructure within the ECUA network (main line breaks, sewer spills, maintenance).•CBOD/BOD (SM 5210B) analysis using a Hach HQd portable meter and DO probe.• Analyze waste water and industrial samples for Total Suspended Solids (SM 2540D), Total Dissolved Solids (SM 2540C), and Volatile Suspended Solids (SM 2540G).
