Julianne worked as a field intern with me on a project I supervised. She is extremely knowledgable, passionate, and helpful in the field. I always felt confident in her skills and decision-making and valued her help on the project greatly! Julianne is wonderful as part of a team, and displayed great leadership and teaching qualities as well whenever new interns or volunteers would join the project. Additionally, she was always collected and good-spirited in very uncomfortable field conditions (extremely hot, humid, and buggy). Overall I was grateful to have her help on the project and looked forward to the days she joined me in the field!

I worked with Julianne during her undergraduate honors thesis project on gopher tortoise burrow detection at the University of Florida. We worked together for several semesters and during this time, she proved herself to be an intelligent, hardworking, dedicated researcher with an aptitude for data management, processing, and analysis. Julianne has an exceptional talent for understanding and analyzing complex data sets and can identify trends in data that many would overlook. She excelled in learning and implementing new programming techniques in a new programming language while also providing vital statistical knowledge to the project. While she is more than proficient in a wide range of analytical tools, I have no doubt that Julianne could quickly learn any new methods required and excel in their implementation. Another one of Julianne's greatest strengths is her technical writing skills. During my time mentoring and supervising her project, she wrote multiple scientific summaries, developed papers related to her project, presented numerous talks on her methods and results, and successfully submitted her honors thesis. Her ability to communicate complex ideas with ease and grace far surpasses many others in this field. Julianne is a skilled team member and is always eager to learn new technologies or methods to improve her skills. I would highly recommend her as a part of any data science focused team.

Doggie’s Wonderland had a partnership with Texas Husky Rescue thus I worked in rehabilitation with shelter dogs as well as monitoring client’s dogs in addition to basic facility maintenance and cleaning. In working with shelter dogs, I’ve been one of the first responders to newly seized animals. In one case, I personally removed ticks from twelve huskies seized from a hoarding situation. I worked with many aggressive and skittish animals whom I helped to train and place into homes. In this time, I learned an immense amount about canine behavior. Beyond this, I worked monitoring client’s dogs who were being boarded or in daycare. I stopped dog fights when they happened, and always put the safety of the dogs in my care first. Lastly, I executed basic facility maintenance including daily mopping, vacuuming, and waste removal as well as monthly deep cleaning. Show less
