  Serving as Senior Staff Attorney with the Post Order Defense Team, part of the broader “Rapid Response Legal Collaborative” of New York State. I represent clients with removal orders to stop their imminent deportation and/or detention by filing with the appropriate immigration agencies such as various city Immigration Courts across the country, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and in federal court. This has included but is not limited to filing Stays of Removal, Humanitarian Parole, Motions to Reopen, Reasonable Fear Reviews, Bond Hearings, Habeas petitions (admitted in the Southern District of New York), and Pro Se Petitions for Review in the Circuit Courts.

  Represented asylum seekers and newly arrived immigrants in removal proceedings in Immigration Court, and State Family Court, and before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services agency. I also assisted in family reunification cases for families separated at the border by helping them to file relief in federal court and by collaborating with pro bono counsel in other states for the representation of family members separated in different states.

  Drafted memorandum on international immunities of the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Jam v. IFC, which the Supreme Court favorably decided February 2019. I also assisted with other international human rights cases relating to human rights abuses performed by development corporations, which included but was not limited to synthesizing a complex factual record and interview notes in English and Spanish for the complaint in Juana Doe et. al v. IFC. I also worked closely with a client in Peru to support his claim against a U.S mining company.
