  Food & Forests is a social impact business mitigating the growing risks of climate change and food insecurity in Africa. Now in our 4th year of nature-based solutions, Food & Forests is the initiative that grew out of Keystone Legacy. Drawing its influence from around the world, we provide small-holder farmers' with the tools to transform their farms into carbon positive assets. And everything starts with a food forest. Our 2 acre demo food forest in Kilifi, Kenya, puts African smallholder farmers at the centre of the design. The micro-financing journey that follows is the most holistic and sustainable route to market for smallholder farmers encompassing water management systems, security fencing, organic farming inputs and insurance. It doesn’t stop there. Our proprietary, Plan Vivo registered platform then connects smallholder farmers to the accredited carbon & organic markets, with blockchain technology ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the value chain. This turnkey solution delivers the financial independence every farmer aspires towards, while enhancing local biodiversity, community livelihoods and our global effort to reverse climate change.
