Project mentor to a group of students, who were to design, via SolidWorks, and build a prosthetic hand within three weeks. Result is a 3D-printed hand made from ABS with movable fingers, wrist capable of flexion-extension, all controlled by a myo armband, which read electromyogram signals. This is to show that a prosthetic that utilizes both myoelectric signals and low-cost construction is possible. Project mentor to a group of students, who were to design, via SolidWorks, and build a prosthetic hand within three weeks. Result is a 3D-printed hand made from ABS with movable fingers made remotely controlled by phone. This is to show that people who have access to 3D printers making their own prosthetic hands and keeping costs low is feasible.
