  During my time at The Natural Heritage Operation, I was responsible for preparing plans, maps, processing, structuring, editing, georeferencing and consolidating geographic information through field and office work to generate spatial information. Duties and responsibilities: • Carried out a gap analysis of satellite images, aerial photographs and available data from reconnaissance flights for the department of Caquetá, including at least the date, precise location, identification, coverage and associated cost in case their acquisition was required. • Three points in time (years 2000, 2010 and 2017), carried out the digitization of new road segments, airstrips or civil airports, and small-scale human settlements not available in the official cartography, and made required updates based on the visual interpretation of satellite images, aerial photographs and reconnaissance flights, according to the methodology established by IDEAM. • Quantified the increase in the number of roads between the analysis periods • Carried out the verification and validation of the information through a field phase that is subject to the dynamics of accessibility according to public order of the area or areas under analysis

  Project objectives: To prepare, review and produce vector and raster information for different projects, such as National Agricultural Census, National Population and Housing Census, and local surveys. -Carrying out the digital processing of satellite images and aerial photographs for the generation of census cartography, using the GIS software for raster data: ERDAS imagine. - Creation of mosaics adjusted to the specific requirements for the subsequent production of the census cartography. - Temporal analysis of the availability of satellite images to process the most complete and updated product, guaranteeing visual quality and information. - Generation of the metadata that would be available in the repository for the publication of the processed images. - Structuring of geographic information in Geodatabases using ArcGIS software and the other resources available from ESRI for the generation of census cartography. - Updating and integrating the existing cartography with alphanumeric information from physical maps of other internal areas of the entity.
