I worked with a team of medical students, doctoral students, and physicians to develop and administer two surveys (one for patients and one for their primary care providers) designed to collect data about each participant's experience during healthcare appointments. We designed a toolkit focused on increasing empathy and improving the overall quality of care during online and in-person appointments. We administered baseline surveys, and upon completion and distribution of the toolkit, re-administered the survey. Data is currently being analyzed to elucidate any differences in perceived empathy between those whose appointments were online versus in-person.

I worked to ensure patients are adhering to the optimal medication regimen as determined by their healthcare team. If there are any questions about clarity, drug interactions, or other concerns, I coordinated with the patients' healthcare team to resolve these issues in a timely matter. I also made calls under the pharmacist's discretion to ask patients if they are taking certain medications that could improve their health management. Additionally, I handled insurance claim issues and made every effort to get the best possible price so that patients could afford their medications.

I worked with a research team at the Emory University School of Medicine to learn about the relationship between COVID-19 survival and tracheostomy timing and technique. I became CITI certified in Human Subjects research and applied my HIPAA training to confidentially collect and record data in the Research Electronic Data Capture tool (REDCap) for data analysis using SAS and R programs. My work also included recruitment of healthcare professionals from a variety of institutions to complete a survey on their experience with tracheostomy during COVID-19. I also made significant contributions to two papers, one which has been published and one that has been accepted for publication.

As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, I managed inventory, completed delivery orders, and exercised great attention to detail and precision while maintaining speed when filling prescriptions. Other key responsibilities included resolving insurance issues, ordering out of stock medications, and helping customers find other CVS Pharmacies nearby who could fill their medications in the instance that we cannot due to lack of inventory. I did my best to make sure that customers received their medications on time and when circumstances arose that made that impossible (short staffing, out of stock, etc) I immediately worked to rectify the situation. At CVS I was often required to maintain a level head in incredibly stressful and fast paced working conditions.
