  Hi there, I am Juj. I am currently living my life filled to the brim with creative passion. I take pride in creating magic and meaning in my digital design work - bringing a detailed eye and keen focus into conceptualising, illustrating, and above all, bringing it all to life through motion design and character animation. Working and collaborating alongside my marvellous team has helped me grow and develop in all these areas. Our animation focuses on storytelling through our world-class animated explainer videos, as well as our video and graphic content. My main roles in my team are conceptualising, storyboarding and, above all, animating, my keen interest being in our character-based animations.   Starting my own company Juj has been the biggest turning point in my design career. Juj started as a small portfolio project, it has now provided me the base for my freelance work to grow and secure a number of clients. Juj has allowed me the space to grow my design and creative skills, particularly in animation, and given me much client engagement. I have had the opportunity to work with and meet a vast array of people, redefining the way people interact with their brands by conceptualizing ideas and stories to make people fall in love with their brand. It has been fast pace, challenging and rewarding in many areas. It has been a platform for me to get hands on with my role as a designer, do what I am most passionate about, as well as take on a multitude of responsibilities. My motto is "If we are not creating for good, then what on earth are we doing it for?" - I stand by this wholeheartedly and drive the notion to create and design for the planet and for a purpose.   I have been working for Caity Cares for six years which entails being away from home a lot - this has allowed me to live independently for many years. My love for animals is what drew me to start house and pet sitting. Upon looking after clients animals and forming connections and trust with them I have been able to live independently and responsibly as well as make my way as a student financially. I am entrusted to look after many regular clients animals in their homes. Caity Cares has given me the opportunity to spend my time doing something that I love (interacting with animals) which includes daily walks in the park, feeding and giving as much love as I can to my favorite furry friends-simultaneously providing me the opportunity to focus on my studies.   As a Vega student I have just participated in Vega Brand Challenge, collaborating in my team Sync. Acting as team management as well as the lead designer in my team, I was able to design and craft my best work yet. Ami is an insurance brand so this project has taught me all the ins and outs of insurance through in-depth research. This allowed my team and I to craft a beautiful Campaign, for Ami, labeled #Get Guided which can be viewed on my portfolio website. I poured my heart into this project and I view the character development and animation that I crafted for this project as my best design work thus far. Show less

  As an intern at Barrows Global I ventured to a whole new city, Durban, where I was given the opportunity to gain experience from the Barrows Multi-Media Team. When working with the team I am sociable, fun and bubbly. I made a few explainer videos and got to gain insight into the retail industry and customer behaviors, working on projects such as Dove and other big brands. I was also able to work on my own concept for the Barrows brand which I labeled "Sustainable Designs by Barrows". Although the time with Barrows was short it taught me how to assess a clients needs, giving me a deeper understanding of merchandising and branding, and the importance of deadlines and co-design. Barrows has allowed me to push myself in the competitive marketing industry, gain extremely valuable experience and get out of my comfort zone with my 3D design work. Show less
