I worked with Julia for about two years at Shopping Live in Moscow. Julia was the buyer for the Beauty department and I was EVP of Television and Sales. I would often say to anyone who would listen that Julia was the best buyer we had, in all our categories. No one would disagree with me, not even the Chief Merchant. Julia was very good at her job, buying for Beauty - but she was so much more than that! She was an exceptional communicator - both within her department and across the company. We all knew that if Julia had an opinion it was one to be listened to and respected. She was open, honest and to the point without trying to be intimidating or make you feel she was telling you what to do. She was respected throughout the Company and worked across the inevitable silos that build within Companies in order to get the best result for her product, her category and for the benefit of the whole organisation.. If you had a problem and asked for her help, she would always work to find a solution with you - for your mutual success. Not only that, Julia was kind, friendly and considerate - one of the reasons she was so successful was that her style and manner always managed to get you 'on-side'. It was a great loss to Shopping Live when Julia announced she was leaving and I immediately tried to hire her, for another company that I was working for at that time, when I heard - but unfortunately she was leaving Russia due to a reassignment of her husband. I would have hired her in a second! I thoroughly recommend Julia to any potential employer. If she comes to work for you she will help you build your success and you will be extremely fortunate to have her on your team.
