  As a summer intern in the Patient Experience department at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, I worked with Customer Service at the main entrance of the hospital, screening and checking in patients and visitors, and escorting them to their respective destinations. I used French skills daily while assisting patients and visitors who spoke French. I also worked on service learning projects to foster leadership skillsets with the junior volunteers, creating a more age-inclusive hospital, and ensuring the longevity of patient-focused programs that began as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
