Working as a biological educator damaged a high understanding of the topic. Biological processes need to be explained clearly in a way that children (8 to 18 age years old) could understand it. Electrophoresis, PCR, environmental culture, and DNA isolation from the orange ore human cells are extremely interesting for children of any age. It is my task to explain to them basic biological processes such as photosynthesis, the Krebs cycle, and getting the resistance for antibiotics in bacterial organisms. I am also trying to show them how useful in everyday life biology could be and I am trying to answer every creative question they have. Classes are both in Polish and English. Show less

During the traineeship in the Laboratory of Biology RNA, I have a great opportunity to get to know basic molecular techniques such as quality analysis of RNA and DNA, electrophoresis, western blot, and qPCR including primer designing. Moreover, I am working with cell culture including HeLa and bone marrow-derived macrophages. In the lab, I also have a great specialist in flow cytometry from whom I can learn how to design experiments, segregate cells and work out the results. I also gained experience with confocal microscopy. Teamwork is daily here so thanks for that opportunity I am familiar with lab cooperation. Last but not least my project damaged me to think independently, look for the solution on my own, and compare results with scientific articles. Show less

The project in with I was working assumed research on how the level of microplastic influence in Daphnia sp. metabolism. I isolated the material from the organism and then provide reverse transcription to use the material to qPCR. I improved my laboratory skills, especially pipetting, sterile work, and working under the lab hood and under the laminar cabinet. During this Erasmus project, I learned how to work in the microbiology laboratory. I was working in Biofilm Group in one of the most significant universities in Europe. I was involved in weekly meetings which allowed me to be an equal researcher in the microbiology team. I presented my own results during meetings so I improved my presentation skills. I was using OCT (optic coherent tomography) to understand how different particles added to the media influence the morphology of the biofilm isolated from the hospital patients. I was using Python language to service the tomograph. Finally, I organised a huge amount of data to draw conclusions and suggest further research direction. Show less

I was participating in many traineeships in English and German. I had to learn how to manage my daily routine, and how to find myself in a foreign city. My duties assumed a great number of data organisations (letters and parcels). Independence and reliability were demanded of me by planning bike routes and accuracy in delivering parcels.
