I currently teach in the Department of Liberal Arts. Miyazaki International College (MIC) is a four-year, liberal arts university located in southern Kyushu. It offers an all English curriculum with "sheltered immersion" particularly for freshmen and sophomores. One of the unique characteristics of MIC is that during the first two years there are two teachers in the content courses. Thus, along with teaching regular four skills-based EFL classes, I have had the opportunity to sharpen my skills as a teacher of second language acquisition working with content-based instruction. Courses taught:Co- Taught (CLIL Content): Cross Cultural Communication, Human Relations, Introduction to Sociology, International Issues in Sociology, Introduction to Political ScienceSolo Taught: English 2, English 3 (EAP with heavy Reading and/or Writing Focus), English 3 (Oral Communication), Introduction to Teaching English in the Elementary Classroom In addition to the above courses, I also teach a bridge to university courses at our sister-high school.
