  For many years, I essentially worked as a barn managed for FEI dressage trainer, Marcel van der Burgh. I was trusted with daily feeding, working/training client horses, attending shows with Marcel, caring for breeding stallions and foals, medical treatments, barn maintenance, showing sale horses to clients, etc. During my time here, I broke young horses under saddle and learned the ins and outs of the dressage business. For many years, I essentially worked as a barn managed for FEI dressage trainer, Marcel van der Burgh.   After being a camper for one summer at Longacres, a sleep-away horseback riding camp, I was asked to return as a counselor two years in a row due to my skills in teaching. I was trusted with groups of 10+ campers ranging in age from 10-17, sometimes adults. My duties included scheduling barn chores, ride times, and planning shows, as well as teaching 4 lessons a day and tending to equine medical needs. I was also appointed with the task of making blog posts and communicating to parents.   As a dedicated volunteer for many years, I was in charge of barn duties, training new volunteers, assisting with teaching therapeutic lessons, helping with events (charity auction, special olympics, PATH certifications, etc.), medical treatment and rehabbing of horses, training of young horses, and working horses in the program. I was given opportunities to take horses off property to shows and trail rides. On top of this, I helped fulfill the therapeutic needs of people from a very young age up to the elderly.
