  We doceren in het hoger onderwijs nog steeds traditionele economische denkkaders. Daarin staan groei, financiële waarde, welvaart en eigen belang centraal. Die economische waarden hebben ons ver gebracht, maar hebben ook geleid tot een ongelijke verdeling van welvaart. Bovendien is het welzijn van mensen niet meegegroeid. Daarom werk ik aan de vernieuwing van economisch onderwijs bij De Goldschmeding Foundation. De foundation stelt fondsen, advies en netwerk beschikbaar om te stimuleren dat er andere denkkaders zullen worden gedoceerd. Daarbij staat centraal: een betere balans tussen mens en economie. Dat noemen wij de Menswaardige Economie. Uiteindelijk hoop ik via deze weg bij te dragen aan het gemeenschappelijk besef dat de economie de bloei en het welzijn van mensen kan en moet ondersteunen.
