In addition to my main job at Laureate, I have been a part-time teacher at UNAB's Faculty of Engineering since 2013, teaching undergraduate Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering students the following courses: Business Models for your Professional Development This course prepares students for a VUCA environment (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) by presenting Lean Methodologies, such as Design Thinking, Customer Journey Map, and Business Storytelling to create a project that solves customer's needs, providing a solution that has customer desirability, technical feasibility and financial viability. Thesis Supervision This is a one-year project that is developed individually by senior students, which focuses on solving a real company need applying engineering methodologies such as Business Models, Lean Thinking, Design Thinking, Process Improvement, and Circular Economy. Introduction to Engineering The scope of this course was to work on a hands-on project in which to apply Business Storytelling methodologies to tell a compelling story about a new product or service that would solve the needs of a specific audience. To identify the fit between Value Proposition and Customer Needs, we applied the Design Thinking methodology to empathize with the customer, define their needs, ideate several solutions, prototype, test and iterate to improve the solution provided. Marketing The scope of this course was to provide a framework for building business models and marketing plans, using 4Ps of marketing and strategic analysis. Management Information Systems The objective of the course was to analyze decision making, Decision Support Systems (DSS), business dashboards and visualization tools. Show less
