Juan is a diamond in the rough. I had the pleasure of managing Juan through a challenging time within his career. I prefer to think that Juan required more mentoring than managing, he always strives to better himself because of his passion for the industry, rather than for mere promotions. Juan is a tester, who genuinely cares about quality assurance, both for the clients he worked for, and or their end users. In all of my years within SQA there are only a handful that have met Juan's level of dedication and drive. Juan was always challenged with working in positions above his current role and station (often several steps above), however, he always managed to deliver without fail no matter the current challenge, and when he needed guidance he also knew to seek it. Juan is one of those that has the ability to achieve anything he puts his mind to, and will only improve with the roles he works in. Juan has the capacity for technical roles (and with the right training and opportunities would be a great asset) but is already adept in understanding business needs and working with all levels of stakeholders to deliver great products. In essence if I ever had the opportunity to work with Juan again, I would. He is exceptional in all capacities that I have seen him work in, and is an great addition in any team or company that has the opportunity to work with him.
