Learning the complexity and efficiency of a city's functions it's impressive. The synchronization and livelihood of the environment involve many disciplines, those where engineers make a difference. My internship was full of new experiences and knowledge, much of which I had and some which I learned. Interpreting blueprints, physical data collection, communicate effectively with engineering staff, the public and contractor record and monitor the progress of the project as well as budget and the ability to make decisions regarding claims from residents, were some of my responsibilities. Learning about the everyday responsibilities of an engineer makes a great impact on the professional development of oneself as well as at a personal level. It gives you the confidence to tackle the new tasks and find a way to accomplish them and just as important it rewards with experience which is key to solving any task. Show less
