I met Juan when I joined PSAV in London and on this one year that we have been colleagues I can say that he is one of the best colleagues that I ever had in my career. Always on top of things because of his organisational skills and ready to go the extra mile to make the job done at the highest level. He is extremely professional, client oriented with dedication into his profession, very well educated and always aware to learn more things, new technologies, not only to improve the services that he can provide, but to expand his creativity according to the needs of each project that he handles as well. I definitely recommend Juan as one of the best AV Technicians that I had the luck to work with and I wish in the nearest future to work with him again. With Kind Regards, Emmanouil (Manos) Oikonomou

Based at The Rosewood, I have greater responsibility in the execution of events as I am highly involved with client show-rounds or meetings, the planning of kit and scenery requests, as well as liaising with freelancers and external suppliers. I also provide my own small quotations for clients using the Hiretrack management system.Technically, I also have greater responsibility by operating larger sound, video and lighting systems with rigging planning. It is also my duty to train the Junior Technician to become confident in operating and setting up different AV installations for events unaided and ensuring all equipment is regularly tested and maintained to the highest standards. The smaller boardroom events generally consisted of virtual meetings on various platforms such as WebEx, BlueJeans, Skype and Zoom. This was an interim role at The Ned Hotel whilst I waited for a Senior Technician vacancy to become available. I was primarily used as the sound and video technician on-site, whilst undertaking small set-ups and de-rigs. Under the guidance of the Technical events manager, I undertook my preparation in becoming a Senior Technician, whilst learning how to do basic quotations.

The role was primarily based at the warehouse in Lower Sydenham, London. Duties included ensuring that equipment was maintained and logged into the Flex inventory management system for accurate client quotations of events before being tested and prepared to 'show-ready' standards for pharmaceutical conference events in Europe. I was also required to be away from home for an extensive period of time as I was required to drive or fly to these events and operate the sound - as well as assist with the video and lighting set-ups for our clients. Many of these events consisted of small to medium virtual meetings c.150-200 people using Webex and Zoom to connect to delegates around different parts of the world. Show less

This role was primarily an Entry-Level Technician role at The Langham Hotel. I was to assist the Senior Technician and Technical Events Manager for set-ups and for large ballroom conferences and productions, to small boardroom meetings within the hotel premises. Occasionally I would assist at other five-star venues within the company to learn new technology and gain more experience in set-ups and new AV systems. Technically in-house, I would operate smaller analogue and digital AV systems and provide first-hand technical assistance for presentations on laptops, projectors and television screens for clients in small ballroom meetings. Additionally, I would oversee the storeroom for stock maintenance; testing and highlighting faulty equipment to submit for repairs through AMF forms. I would also take stock counts and submit additional stock requests. I was required to attend to regular operations meetings with the hotel sales and banqueting teams in order to inform and resolve event arrangements with these different departments on a daily and weekly basis. This was a summer season contract for the TUI Family Life concept. I was responsible for operating the hotel’s own install systems at the entertainment venue for evening entertainment and production shows. These included kids entertainment and production casts for the show team. The show content was constructed through Qlab to be shown on LED screen for 'welcome meetings' as well as the live evening shows. This included creating my own slide content through powerpoint, as well as organising and editing audio or video-specific show content that was provided by the digital media department. My daytime responsibility was to liaise with the resident show and animation teams to organise appropriate dance and vocal rehearsal times and staging, as well as maintain and test all the technical equipment within the different hotel venues. I provided AV technical assistance for the Union of Brunel Students and the Live Music Society in the student nightclub, university campus and nearby hotel venues. This accommodated live bands, solo acts and DJ performers, as well as in-house entertainers for comedy shows and annual award ceremonies. I liaised with event organisers and external promoters for professional acts; accommodating their needs through their technical specifications and seeking alternatives if problems arose. Additionally, I liaised with the large number of university clubs and societies as events were often multicultural and internationally themed to reflect the diverse university culture. Some general duties included Operating the event ticketing system and logged ticket reports with the technical duty manager. Show less
