      • Jul 2012 - Present

I train canadidates in Transportation Officer duties, as well as conduct firearms training, defensive tactics, certify them to carry OC (pepper spray) and the expandable baton. Since I have a background in DOT (FMCSA) I also teach commercial motor vehicle operations (motor coach) as well as current regulations pertaining to our contractor/job (DHS/ICE), and DOT (FMCSA) regulations. I also teach and certify for 1st Aid/CPR/AED as well. When I'm not training, I conduct quality control (to include OSHA) inspections, as required by our contractor, and prepare reports pertaining to these inspections.I assist with incident investigations, conduct interviews and collect evidence, and submit the required reports with my findings and recommendations.I am also one of the site's Notary Public for the State of Texas, and use this service as requested when a Notary Public is needed for contracts, and other documentation. As the company's Firearms instructor, I schedule, coordinate and conduct monthly firearms re-qualifications that are required for each officers commission card renewal. Scheduling is based on expiration dates and time limits set by the state. This also involves conducting the required "classroom" training and written tests mandated by the state. Maintaining these records is also vital and I keep all records current and up-to-date, in case of a state audit, assisting as needed or requested.I have recently been given the additional title of Site Health & Safety officer, with the added responsibilities and reporting requirements. Currently gathering tools and resources to assist with the additional title for help in incident investigations and information gathering, as I'm also taking on the responsibilitis of a Risk Manager.
