I don't think we realized how much we had to learn and how much better we could be before John turned up at Huge. The years of experience he brought to Huge technology helped change the fundamentals of our practice by using simple and proven paradigms. What I liked about John was his straight-to-the-point explanations which wasn't so much about directing by example, but leading by example and allowing the team to explore options and opportunity on their own. His approach to empowering teams really got us moving and I appreciated the space given to the teams to explore and understand on their own. Not a lot of seasoned technologists can be so open. I could also tell that John loved being with the team day-to-day, especially when during learning sessions. John is a true technologist at heart (always curious, always learning). A great trait to have in a manager. In summary, John is a seasoned technologist, practical thinker and adept problem solver, all round great guy - one we will miss!
