Jim Lightbody, C.Dir.

I appointed Jennifer as Interim Director, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Response in order to lead the development of an action plan to respond to the many recommendations that BCLC received from reviews, audits, changes to regulations and the Provincial Government's directives. It was a critical role at the time that required the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with key internal departments, Ministries in the provincial government, the gaming regulator (GPEB) and BCLC's casino service providers who are private companies contracted to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of casinos. I chose Jennifer to be promoted for this new role because I had witnessed her ability to learn quickly, her curious nature and attention to detail. Jennifer was a consummate professional in this role and her analytical and strategic skills allowed us to get to the root of complex issues and formulate solutions quickly. She always brought a very logical and methodical perspective to problem solving and was key to helping us navigate through an environment that had many stakeholders with different priorities and agendas. I could always count on Jennifer to help us do things right, but more importantly - to do the right things. Jennifer will be a great asset to any organization looking for someone to lead change, collaborate effectively and get things done.

I reported to Jennifer while she was the Manager, Gaming Facilities Development and she was a wonderful boss. She was always available to help me learn and work through challenging situations, but at the same time trusted me to do my job well and gave me the space to do so. I learned a lot from Jennifer on how to stay calm and professional during the most stressful times and at the end of the day, we always managed to have some laughs together. I will always remember her as one of the best bosses I ever had and I appreciate everything I learned from her.
