Jennifer is a star alumna from the GW Paralegal Studies program. Not content with just representing our program well throughout her professional career, Jennifer has devoted time, effort and energy to helping our students succeed in meeting their professional goals. She has provided creative in-person programming and on-point resume and cover letter review, all of which have directly benefited our students and alumni. At commencement time we ask our graduates to reach behind them and pull someone up - Jennifer has done this over and over again, reaching out to many and improving our program as a whole.

Daniel R. Donahoe, MBA

Creating new opportunities in the federal government is generally only accomplished when new funding becomes available. But this did not deter Jennifer from pursuing positions where they once did not exist. A true trailblazer and pioneer, Jennifer's hard work, determination, and willingness to accept any challenge before her led to her fast climb in the Office of General Counsel and opened the door for other paralegals to pursue opportunities and experiences that were not previously available. Her wit and intellect set her apart from the rest of the paralegal cadre, and her skills, talents, and adeptness at legal research and writing made her one of the office's most sought after paralegals. But Jennifer's contributions to the Office of General Counsel extend further than her work as a paralegal. Jennifer was also a valuable member of the Paralegal Recruitment Subcommittee, and her efforts to recruit quality applicants and top talent did not go unnoticed or unrewarded. With a keen attention to detail and the ability to relate to any individual, Jennifer was able to lead multiple recruitment efforts that yielded invaluable additions to the paralegal cadre. Jennifer went above and beyond the call of duty. She was a resource for her colleagues and believed in the value of teamwork. She was always willing to mentor new paralegals and delighted in the success of others. Her insight and situational awareness made her indispensable. Yet through it all, she remained humble, down to earth, goal oriented, and task focused. Nothing could deter or distract her. Jennifer's contributions to the Office of General Counsel are still readily apparent. The position she helped to create remains a coveted position among paralegals. The attorneys she worked with and assisted consider her the standard and expect from the rest of the paralegal cadre what was expected from Jennifer. To say Jennifer succeeded while in the Office of General Counsel would be a vast understatement. She surpassed every expectation of her, knocked down barriers, and recruited the federal government's best paralegals. And she did it all with a determined smile.

I provided paralegal support in the Agency's Litigation Division for 3.5 years handling civil, criminal, FOIA, and FISA matters. I was responsible for tasking discovery requests, communicating with government agencies (including DOJ, FBI, State Department, and various US Attorneys' offices), preparing documents for production in discovery, and conducting document reviews for redaction/information security purposes. I spent two years on the Technology Committee which allowed me to beta test many e-discovery and document management software platforms. I also spent two years on the Recruitment Committee which allowed for me to recruit and hire paralegals from all over the east coast. Show less
