Started doing robotics research while still studying and began my thesis named Behavior Based Autonomous Mobile Robot for Industrial Logistics. The purpose of my thesis was to apply a design and implement robotic behaviors into a intralogistics robot using a new layered-based architecture using behavior trees. Behavior Trees are very useful for to create generic, modular and flexible structures which can be used for different purposes. Therefore, building robotic behaviors using this technology creates a modular robotic system with generic behavior that can be applied not only in a specific robot but can adapt to a variety of robots and applications. While developing my thesis I worked in: - Behavior Trees development; - Robot Navigation: motion planning, localization (SLAM) and obstacle avoidance; - Robot Perception and Integration: Lidar, 3D cameras, laserscanners; - Robot Simulation; - Git for version control; Technologies: - C/C++ and Python; - BehaviorTree.CPP and Groot. - Linux based systems (Ubuntu); - ROS and ROS2; - QT 5; - VSCode; - Unity, Unreal Engine, Gazebo; - GitHub, Bitbucket. • HomeSafe - Monitorizing in Safety
      • Apr 2020 - Oct 2021

Development of a solution to face the pandemic situation we are dealing with at the moment. As we know chronic patients and elderly people are the risk group, that is, the most susceptible to be infected by COVID19 and our solutions are focused on them. With our ecosystem consisting of sensors to measure some important vital signs (oxygen, temperature, and heartbeat) and an android application, patients infected with COVID19 can be monitored and treated at home. The application was developed to be simple and intuitive so info excluded people can understand and use our App. All the data registered in the App is automatically saved in a database, so statistics can be made and past readings and patients information can be visualized. In case of abnormal readings from patients, alerts are generated to inform the health entity (hospital, private doctor, caregiver). This solution comes to solve and help the hospitals and health entities all around the world as the majority are suffering from a tremendous overload so some patients are not followed as they should be ultimately leading to the loss of human lives. In the current phase of development, a mass test of the HomeSafe kit is being conducted in students and teachers from NOVA School of Sciences Technology in order to make adjustments and make the solution for reliable. As head of the software team my role is: - Development of the android application using Android Studio, Google Firebase and git for version control. Show less
