  Neuroprotective effects of deferiprone and maltol on rat mesencephalic N27 neurotoxin models of Parkinson’s Disease. • Cultured N27 rat mesencephalic dopaminergic neurones in the laboratory using the aseptic technique • Prepared neurotoxin models of Parkinson’s Disease and tested iron chelators to see if they protect brain cells against the neurotoxins which target the mitochondria • Conducted cell based assays to determine toxicity or neuroprotection of iron chelators • Performed a significant number of statistical analyses using Prism software
