With Amherst, Massachusetts as a home base, and part time work closer to Vermont in Gill-Montague, it is just a matter of time before one realizes the absolute vital connection and recharge effect to our soundness of mind-body health that living close to food sources and small farms also provide. As a practitioner-scholar in International Psychology, I have witnessed firsthand the power behind expressive arts such as those found in the Southern Hemisphere via dance and music, which often tap into supply major lifelines to sustainability of the planet when kept in sync with agriculture respecting the regional forces of the planet Earth. The lively spirit witnessed in these cultures can serve as inspiration for leading us Northern Hemisphere natives more creatively throughout our daily lives and interactions with others. This makes healing the psychological impact of trauma that much smoother, while strengthening the mind-body awareness through healthy habits serves to fortify any cognitive-behavioral treatments practiced with clients. I also specialize in depression and anxiety disorders in adolescents and adults alienated from their primal connections to the land, families and the important others in their lives. With a background in psychological assessment, behavioral health services and psychoeducational principles, I seek first to do no harm, and second, to offer clarification and behavioral support leading ultimately to self-soothing and eventually healing.
