  I established and run a small company specialising in the manufacture and supply of traditional lime based building mortars and plasters as well as a wide range of other ecological building materials with my husband - Nigel Gervis who is the Technical Director - Ty-Mawr Lime Ltd.We are based at a former farm in the Brecon Beacons National Park where we also have a dedicated training facility. We regularly run courses in traditional and sustainable building skills.Over the last 23 years, we have supplied building materials and advice/support to over 26,500 projects and over 12,000 delegates have attended courses from all over the world. Nigel was awarded the Marsh award for Training in Traditional Building Skills sponsored by Construction Skills and English Heritage.I am based at our sales and distribution units, where as well as overseeing the day to day running of the business, I look after the business planning, financial management, human resources, marketing, customer services and lobbying; representing the business and/or green building sector in Wales on various committees including the Welsh Traditional Building Forum, where I am a Company Director and Treasurer - working to give the sector a stronger voice!We are passionate about caring appropriately for buildings and just as passionate about the environment, we therefore continually work to improve the 'green'​ credentials of our products and develop systems using natural materials to address energy efficiency issues in old buildings whilst mintaining their ability to 'breathe'. Our work in this field has won us a number of innovation and green awards, most notably, we were named as one of 52 sustainability champions on the first Welsh Green List.As a former systems analyst, I am keen on systems - we therefore operate all aspects of the business under quality and environmental management standards ensuring these principles remain core to the business as it grows.
