  I was so happy to come home to Kitsap Lake Elementary! Tanya didn't get to come, but was promised to get to the next year. That never happened! Tayna Martin went to Crownhill when Tanya Snyder and I went to the 6th grade building. I retired at the end of 2012 with 38 years. During both of the last two years at KLE I had a student teacher, which was a wonderful experience! I also worked the entire school year at West Hills Stem doing early morning and working with 3rd graders during school from the end of October through the end of May 2013. This school year 2014-2015 I got to teach with Tayna Martin for 6 months at Crownhill from the beginning of the school year until March 2nd with a wonderful 3rd grade class. Now she has me come in and help in her room each week with math, science, art, and anything else she needs done! :) Show less

  Opened the new 6th grade wing with Tanya Snyder. We both were recruited to go to the 6th grade building and teach math and science the first year and then just math. I taught Pre-Algebra the 2nd year along with AT math. Tanya is now teaching the Pre-Algebra and Holt math. Opened the new 6th grade wing with Tanya Snyder.   Taught with Tayna Martin and Tanya Snyder! We made a magical team who trusted each other even though we had different styles of teaching. We got those WASL and MSP scores up in the upper 80%.   Created this program from scratch. Built it up to 51 students in four years. Even survived the big earthquake in the portable! We had grades K-8 and the year I left were about to add 9th grade. We were originally housed for 2 years at the District Office and then moved to a double portable at Naval Avenue Elementary. Created this program from scratch.
