During this period I have been the course director of urban planning and management course, the course she studied, as well as I have been supervising her MSc research. Her M.Sc. thesis entitled ‘The City on Ground and the City in Mind, Linking city morphology and women’s travel in Istanbul, Turkey', is an innovative piece of research work on gender research in transport, which is a rather neglected field. In the process towards her thesis she has shown to be able to work in a very independent and creative way, as well as, she was very well cooperating with her supervisors. Furthermore, throughout her study period she demonstrated that she is not only competent in her scientific field but that she also possesses the social skills to work in co-operation with others within a diverse cultural environment. Jowan is a bright and hard working lady, showing a lot of dedication for her work.
