Extensive knowledge on Brazilian banking products, markets, infrastructure and regulation. As part of the global FICC Structuring team the desk mandate includes foreign exchange, interest rates, commodities and credit. One of the key goals for the desk was to improve cross-selling with other structuring teams across US, EMEA and Asia. An informal joint venture with equities desk was established to deliver solutions on equities derivatives space to Brazilian local client base. Desk main business activities range from intense contact with sales and trading to promote ideas and discuss available structures for specific client needs, discuss pricing with trading on derivatives and credit transactions (market risk, CVA, funding, collateral eligibility, etc), alternatives on A&LM space for clients and access trades selling Brazilian assets to offshore investors or foreign assets to Brazilian customer base. The desk was also responsible for supporting new products approvals demands arriving from clients specific transactions or trading needs to improve mandate. Main products traded by the desk (but not limited to) were Brazilian related instruments, including cross-currency swaps, interest rate swaps, FX-linked products (notes, enhanced NDF), vanilla and exotic options, funded total return swaps and credit linked notes, onshore and offshore structured financing deals (repos with onshore and offshore collateral, leverage TRS), A&LM structures (bond/loans hedging, cheapening trades, etc).
