It is my great pleasure to recommend Josie as both a student and teacher leader. Josie and I are both TFA corps members, currently teach at the same school, and attend National University together as we work toward earning our credentials. I have seen Josie's work ethic and passion for education first hand. Josie attended UCLA and graduated with B.S. in Applied Math. I have witnessed Josie bring the skills and expertise she accumulated during her undergrad academic career into her teaching as well as to her credential program and Teach For America. Josie believes in educational equity and works tirelessly to ensure all her students are able to meet their full potential. Working at the same school as Josie I know that Josie cares deeply for her students and works incredibly hard everyday to ensure she is providing meaningful and quality instruction to her students while simultaneously being a student herself. Josie's drive and desire to continue learning and progressing in her practice is inspirational. Josie would be an asset to any school and team she enters. I know she will continually work to ensure students everywhere have access to a quality education and do the best she possibly can to provide excellent math instruction while encouraging her students to be the best versions of themselves. Josie brings encouragement and meaningful feedback to every interaction with her colleagues, providing excellent support as well as motivation to continually improve across grade-levels and content. Working with Josie is and has always been a pleasure!
