Since joining the organization at its infancy, ADF has grown to be one of the main data collection, processing, and analysis sources for the Fond-des-Blancs area winning contracts with multiple organizations to help them with their data needs. Overall ADF has grown from an idea to a viable and functional organization that can make a change in the communities it works in. Solved problems ranging from virus removal, to increasing the range of a wireless network, and on to replacing bad hardware. The role taught me much about organization, managing calendars, and how to be polite and firm when dealing with difficult, impatient, or upset clients. The position challenged me to overcome fears of facing the unknown and diving into task without being sure of the solution. Going the homes or offices of many people, all with different problems and scenarios made having to face the unknown a daily task. It made being flexible on a personal level with the client and on the technical side with the various IT problems, critical. The experience expanded and cemented my skills as a technician and further improved my client management skills and organization skills. Overall my experiences taught me much about the importance of maintaining healthy client relationships and how to do it. It taught me not just the importance of making sure needs were met, but also about how to go about meeting needs in the best way possible. Finally, the position taught me a lot about how to stay calm and perform under pressure and in uncertainty. Show less
