    • 1926 John Deere Corn Binder Restoration
      • Jan 2022 - Dec 2022

I am on a team of 8 engineers working to restore an antique Corn Binder to it's original functional and aesthetic state. We are working with FRAPA (Front Range Antique Power Association) as our sponsor for this project. The machinery incorporates various drivetrains, gearing, and shafts to cut corn stalks, feed them into a chute, bind and bundle the stalks, and spit the stalks out the back for harvesting. We are in the process of disassembling the entire binder, sandblasting all of the metal components, and organizing the subsystems for preparing to refurbish and reassemble. Once the project is complete, we plan to demonstrate what this amazing piece of American engineered machinery can do during the fall harvest. Show less

    • 1982 Honda CB900F Mechanics
      • Feb 2022 - May 2022

I worked with 4 other classmates on an Internal Combustion Engines Project where we were tasked with diagnosing and repairing a 1982 Honda CB900F motorcycle. We learned that many parts were worn and needed replacing, one spark plug insert needed to be rethreaded, the carburetors needed to be rebuilt, and the timing needed adjusting. After fixing everything that we believed to be the issue, we further learned that the valves were not seated properly, and the compression seemed to be the only thing lacking in getting the bike to start. I used and Arduino Uno and various sensors to trigger, arm, and disarm the system. I created the prototype, programmed the Arduino, and created the wiring schematic. More details are explained in the video.
