Implemented enhancements and bug fixes to the SunGuide Advanced Traffic Management System software, augmenting the codebase to fulfill its duties in Florida and Kansas better and to keep drivers safe. Wrote, upgraded, and utilized tools to repair different databases storing traffic event and road data for multiple clients, resulting in accurate databases and decreasing future database update time to a few days instead of three weeks. Tested and repaired enhancements for the latest software release of SunGuide, leading to all known issues being solved in a timely manner and a successful annual round of Formal Acceptance Testing by the clients. -Worked with the Intelligent Robots Laboratory consisting of ECE faculty, graduate and undergraduate students while investigating the use of human robot interactions (HRI) utilizing mixed reality for interventions when in person assistance is not possible. -Researched history of HRIs combined with social robotics (SR) and mixed reality with focus on autism spectrum disorder. -Developed Unreal Engine Application that when paired with the Microsoft HoloLens 2, allowed the user to view a holographic 3D model of a robot (NAO model), leading to ease of programming actions into the physical robot. -Designed and piloted an experiment utilizing the HoloLens application to test if the use of mixed reality significantly bettered the process of healthcare professionals, with no engineering experience, programming SRs. Results revealed that this system led to programming robots 57.8% faster while being 13% more usable than other forms of communication. Show less
