Josh proved to be AMAZING during our time together on BBC Earth's "Enchanted Kingdom" 3D project. As well as the workflow / D.I.T side of things, Josh also handled creative aspects like time-lapse shooting and Making Of filming as well as promo editing etc. He ran his team of media wizards with aplomb and led the way on all things technology related. Where others might have fallen short, Josh was there to fill the gap and train them so they'd be able to handle it going forward. Besides his work ability and unflagging strength, he's a snappy dresser and has great taste in music! I'd work with him again in a heartbeat!

Josh is a true expert in all aspects of film production and would never not have a detailed answer for us on any problem we may have, no matter what. Camera solutions, software or workflow demands, every time we challenged him he came up trumps and always went the extra mile! Africa was a hugely demanding production which took meticulous planning which Josh was at the forefront of, tackling every problem that came to light. On top of this his experience filming and producing allowed us to lean on him for advice in the field. All in all it is safe to say we could not have done it with out him. Not to mention he is a splendid chap and I know I wouldn't go without him as a contact in my phone book.

BBC Academy hired me to create and deliver a one hour presentation demystifying workflow. The session covered many aspects of current "real world" production workflows from right across the BBC and was open to all Production and Technical staff in the main BBC centres as well as external delegates in Bristol. I finished with a one-off "Training the Trainers" session for College Of Technology Trainers at Elstree. During my prep phase I was able to speak to many of the Heads Of Technology and Post production leads in the various centres and get a good overview of pan-BBC workflows. In all I visited; Belfast, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Salford, London and Elstree and the sessions were extremely well received. It was a great way to wrap up my 5 and a bit years working in the U.K. Show less

While in Tanzania filming for the Enchanted Kingdom ( Africa 3D ) film, I self-shot a key interview with legendary wildlife cameraman Mark Deeble for the landmark BBC NHU series "Africa" Mark spoke eloquently about filming the emotionally charged scenes of a mother elephant watching her calf dying during a severe drought in Amboseli - a highlight of the "Savannah" episode produced by Simon Blakeney. "Josh shot and directed an interview segment from the Serengeti for the 'Savannah' show of 'Africa' which transmitted on BBC 1 in January 2013. Both the filming and directing was great and he did a particularly good job of framing the interview, putting the interviewee at ease and getting concise clear answers to the questions which worked really well for us. He placed the interviewee in the landscape really well and the shots he got for us cut in really well with the blue-chip natural history shots it was intercut with."
