I was responsible for coordinating the delivery of CBM's Development, Humanitarian and DRR projects in Nigeria, Indonesia and Bangladesh. My portfolio included resilience-building projects for coastal communities in Bangladesh; work in Cox's Bazaar providing rehabilitation services and assistive devices to the Rohingya population; and collaboration with hospitals in East Java and East Nusa Tenggara (Indonesia) to provide eye health screening and cataract surgeries to isolated communities. On a practical level, my involvement in these projects spanned the full project cycle - from designing the projects, to oversight of their implementation, regular monitoring, tracking budget burn rates, resolving technical issues, and building strong relationships with a range of both internal and external stakeholders. I also undertook field visits to assess project quality, strengthen relationships with implementing partners, and gather media content for our fundraising team. Show less

In this role I was responsible for coordinating the local council's emergency (COVID-19) recovery efforts. This involved working very closely with local community leaders to identify community priorities, plan appropriate interventions, and implement projects both internally and in collaboration with local stakeholders. To support this work I recruited and managed a team of 4x Community Development Officers. Our significant achievements included the development of a virtual 'Recovery Hub' to streamline the communication of emergency support initiatives for the community; helping job-seekers through skills-building and networking opportunities; strengthening the digital literacy of isolated residents; and providing training to local volunteering organisations who were seeking to re-establish their volunteer corps. Projects and Safeguarding Coordinator

I supported the design and implementation of safety procedures for children involved in AVI's international operations, both beneficiaries and participants. This involved included undertaking place-based risk assessments for deployment locations, establishing child-focused emergency advice for families, and facilitating training for staff and program participants to help them understand proper procedures to ensure effective safeguarding and risk mitigation. Further, I managed a small team of researchers as we produced a practitioner's guide on best-practice international community development.
