As an XR Solution Architect, I am responsible for bridging the gap between the mechanical design team and the visual studio team to effectively leverage XR technology in mechanical engineering design. I work closely with both teams to identify opportunities where XR technology can improve design and engineering workflows, and then develop and implement strategies to integrate XR into those workflows.I lead the capture side of both teams, overseeing the use of laser scanners, 360 cameras, and other technologies to capture data for use in XR experiences. I also manage the content produced for these experiences, ensuring that it is high-quality and meets the needs of both teams.In this role, I serve as a liaison between the mechanical design team and the visual studio team, facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned on the use of XR technology. In my first year, I liaised between mechatronic design and software development of an apparatus designed to produce a continuous electrospun collagen fibre. This apparatus assisted PhD medical research into bio-fabricated constructs for use in tendon and ligament repair. In the year following, I was invited to conduct my honours thesis through TRICEP where I designed, built and validated a programmable electromechanical bioreactor for cell-laden hydrogels. The development of this apparatus aided in medical research regarding bioprinting of soft tissue constructs and in the further development of more complex biomaterials. Throughout my time in this position, I've been responsible for the complete product development process including: - Creating product development timelines & scheduling, - Communicating with appropriate stakeholders to meet desired project requirements, - Engineering design through CAD, Mechanical/Electrical (Solidworks), - Manufacturing components using CNC and 3D printing technology, - Using hand tools and industrial machinery to produce a final product, - Prototype development, testing and refinement, - GUI design using the QT IDE (C/C++), - Arduino firmware design, - Complete and sign off all related documentation and paperwork for each product release, Show less
