During my time within the Endoscopy division, I developed my account management and clinical sales skills by supporting 15 hospitals across my South-West UK territory. Throughout my time, I have been focused on building strong and long standing relationships aswell as adding value to customers. My role involved generating business in new accounts in addition to developing relationships and implementing new products into existing accounts. My main objectives were to understand departmental needs through communication with several clinical stakeholders, deliver product demonstrations (for a large portfolio of over 2000 products), clinical training and education as well as technical surgical case support. My focus on clinical education and case support allowed me to form strong relationships and generate sales through a consultative approach. Show less

I have gained valuable healthcare experience working in the Emergency Department at Derriford Hospital as well as a lot of vital knowledge on emergency medicine. My role involves conducting nursing assessments, ECGs, regular observations and neurological observations. I really enjoy working closely with other members of the team to provide the best quality emergency care. I feel I thrive in a busy environment where communication and organisation skills are key. Driving the implementation of innovative technologies and valuable medical devices into the NHS. Specifically, Angiodroid - the CO2 injector, which fully automates the injection of CO2 contrast agent, reducing the use of Iodinated contrast, thereby avoiding related complications during vascular surgery and interventional procedures. I have also aquired knowledge of the wider portfolio including Radiation protection, Cardiac pacing and monitoring products, which all provide extremely valuable solutions in the cardiovascular care market. Angiodroid is the first and only fully automated carbon dioxide injector, providing high quality diagnostic imaging for CO2 angiography procedures. CO2 as a contrast agent is vital in preserving patients renal function due to its 100% biocompatibility, it also exhibits several other advantages over the traditional Iodinated contrast media. I was part of a team recruiting 10,000 participants for a national study investigating the risk factors of Covid-19. The study is sponsored by several UK universities such as Queen Mary University, Swansea, Edinburgh and is also supported by many charities across the UK. COVIDENCE UK is a national study open to anyone who is 16 and over and living in the UK. We aim to identify who is most at risk of contracting COVID-19 and why some people become more ill than others. During my first MRes placement, I investigated the paracrine effect of cardiac progenitor cell-cultured media on human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes in vitro. Using a novel multiplex kinase assay technique, I was able to identify pathways involved in the regulation of cardiomyocyte cell death under infarcted conditions. (Supervisors: Prof M Schneider, Dr M Noseda) My second project involved using computational pathology to analyze digital histology images, which were derived from patients who had undergone ascending aortic replacement surgery. Using segmentation software, such as Image J and QuPath, I was able to identify segments of cystic medial degradation in the microstructure of the aortic wall by measuring changes in the abundance of proteins such as Elastin, Collagen, VMSCs and many more. (Supervisors: Prof Thanos Athanasiou, Dr Yousuf Salmasi) I am extremely passionate about this project, so I am actively involved in this research on behalf of the London Aortic Mechanobiology Working Group. Recently, I have been investigating machine learning approaches to enhance the analysis of digital histology images and 4D Flow MRI data. Throughout my MRES, I attended master classes in 'creative thinking', 'critical thinking' and 'how to write a research paper', as well as gaining experience formulating a grant application.
