Social media has been really important, and has potentially been the main focus of my project at the moment, as I try to build up a strong local (and further afield) following. A lot of the work required to set up The Artful Digger of course took place before its launch - organising what products I wanted and subsequently getting hold of them, working out my pricing strategy, designing and drawing/painting my logo, arranging my stand, keeping detailed accounts, and setting up my financials correctly. 25/05/2021: We recently launched our second stand, at the Railway Farm Shop, in Benhall, near Saxmundham. This expansion was the result of us supporting a charitable initiative being undertaken by the owners, getting the local community engaged in cultivating their own on-site vegetable patch. The expansion itself involved acquiring more stock, liaising with the owners, connecting with their audience online and designing a new stand. The new stand has led me to adapt my accounts, helping clarify where and when products have been sold, allowing me to start to analyse where certain items may be more effective, maximising their potential sales. 08/07/2021: We have seen growing sales across both of our stands, and I have noticed trends in the sales patterns of certain types of items and how those patterns differ between our two stalls. On Sunday 4th July, we attended and exhibited at the Hockwold Hall Summer Fayre, alongside over 100 other stalls, and enjoyed engaging with customers and meeting other stall-holders. Show less

Worked on a number of projects, engaging in group and solo activities, such as market predictions and company analyses. I also had the opportunity to attend a number of seminars and lectures given by individual members of the Sanlam community, covering broader investment and research topics, whilst also answering questions and discussing their own roles within the business. The experience culminated in presenting our findings to a board of highly-qualified and experienced judges, where my team came second place and was highly commended for elements of my work specifically! This has been the most well-structured work experience program of which I have been lucky enough to be a part! Show less
