ProSpect was acquired by MOCON Inc. in February of 2019. I was brought on to continue my ProSpect responsibilities and assist with the transition, after which I assumed a new role. I currently work as a Manufacturing Engineer for 4 separate product lines. I ensure that the systems and processes are in place for our assemblers and technicians to be successful. I assist and troubleshoot failures using a wide array of quality tools (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Eight Disciplines (8D)) and production efficiency tools (Lean, 5S) to further improve our our overall production processes. I also work as a interdepartmental bridge between production, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering in order to meet and exceed customer expectations. Additionally, I have assumed control over the continuous design improvement aspects of these 4 product lines. I design, validate, and integrate changes in order to improve our products. To date, I have integrated 2 new products and 90+ sub assemblies into full production.

ProSpect sold Near Infrared (NIR) analyzers to the dairy industry. As it was a small company, I wore many hats in my role. I assisted in design and testing of analyzer improvements, as well as of the prototype powder sampler and analyzer system itself. I installed these analyzers at customer sites across the United States and Australia. I was the primary point of contact for our customers and helped answer any questions or develop resolutions for any issues both remotely and on site. I used chemometric software to calibrate and troubleshoot the analyzers. I also was responsible for programming our on-board Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and worked directly with the plants to integrate our analyzers into their systems. I accompanied our sales staff on preliminary sales and engineering visits to potential customers in order to serve as a resource for any questions and provide potential solutions via the use of our analyzers. This collaboration with the sales staff helped facilitate and expedite the successful closing of sales.
