Cambridge, MA Pecos Wind Power is driving down the LCOE of distributed wind turbines to make it economical for commercial electricity customers to switch to wind power. We couple a high capacity factor turbine design with an innovative tower system to maximize power production in low winds and minimize project costs.

Waltham, Massachusetts Ogin is commercializing a 150kW shrouded turbine concept for the distributed wind market. It is the highest efficiency turbine in the wind industry. I support the operation and maintenance of Ogin’s fleet of 7 prototype turbines. I am responsible for resolving mechanical field issues. This entails inspecting the turbines, collaborating with design teams and suppliers on root cause investigation, designing replacement components, coordinating implementation of corrective actions, and validating… Show more Ogin is commercializing a 150kW shrouded turbine concept for the distributed wind market. Orlando, Florida Area My responsibility was to determine the suitability of Siemens' geared 2.3MW and direct drive 3.0MW onshore turbines for project sites that are outside of standard IEC 61400-1 conditions. I ran a finite element, nonlinear, aero-elastic code that models the wind turbine structure and controller in order to analyze the loads on the wind turbine components based on site specific wind conditions. I ran a finite element, nonlinear, aero-elastic code that models the wind turbine structure and controller in order to analyze the loads on the wind turbine components based on site specific wind conditions. I created design loads for Siemens' 115m concrete tower, one of the tallest wind turbine towers in the US. I supported the Hutchinson, KS manufacturing facility by dispositioning mechanical related nonconformances on Siemens' 2.3 and 3.0MW platforms. I designed and field tested a pitch calibration tool to hold pitch calibration tolerance to within 0 +/-0.5 degrees to minimize customer AEP loss from pitch calibration error. Show less

Santander, Spain After studying abroad in Spain, I interned in the renewable energy department of Centro Tecnológico de Componentes and worked on the preliminary design of a 100m hub height, 2 MW wind turbine. I researched and wrote a report of the state-of-the-art of joints for sectional wind turbine towers.
