Mr. Field was a student of mine for his advanced medical surgical courses as well as his preceptor/capstone course just prior to graduating in 2009. His advanced medical surgical clinical hours were at ESJH for one of these courses, and at Denver Health for the other. His clinical instructors gave him outstanding reviews for his clinical performance. His preceptorship was in the hospice setting, where he also did quite well. Mr. Field tells me that he has always wanted to be a nurse , even as a child, so he could help people. Finally, he was able to get into CCD’s School of Nursing and begin to make his dreams come true. Mr. Field is a very bright and intelligent individual, pursuing every learning opportunity extended to him with great zeal. Academically, he did well in some very difficult courses. He has excellent people skills and anticipates his patients’ needs very well. He is adept at dealing with families, which he demonstrated even in the challenging hospice setting. He is an excellent team player, going above and beyond for his patients, and to lend a helping hand to his colleagues.
