  Senior Design - Tube Furnace Hot Press Solution Sponsor: Dr. Olevsky (Dean of Engineering) head of the Powder Technology Laboratory • The goal of this project is to research, design, and manufacture a hot press within a vertical tube furnace in temperatures up to 1500˚ C utilizing an Instron press.  Managed team as the project lead from design to completion (simulated). Direct responsibility for material procurement, design, and research as well as project organization through systems engineering. Performed thermal analysis and materials science research for tooling. Evaluated design ideas through trade studies and successfully pushed this project through PDR and CDR to ultimately achieve a solution that suited the sponsor's needs. Show less
