Bio
Frances Sheehan, CAP®
I had the good fortune of working closely with Josh for two years in my role as President of Congregation Ohev Shalom, where he served as Executive Director. I simply cannot say enough good things about this exemplary man. He brought tremendous energy, negotiating skills, IT expertise, and human resources talent to his role, all with a calm, pleasant, warm, engaging, professional manner. He exercised tremendous self control when dealing with difficult-to-deal-with individuals, and was straightforward and constructive in conflict situations. He hired excellent staff and was influential in creating a strong staff team - making it extremely easy for those of us in governance leadership to focus on the issues we were supposed to, instead of worrying about personnel issues. Josh handled the facility and vendor matters and the day to day running of a 300-family synagogue, but was also a creative problem solver. His favorite phrases were "what can I do to help?" and "how can we get to yes?" He particularly excelled at marketing and membership recruitment - with a great deal of comfort with social media, and was often the #1 reason people joined our synagogue. I am pleased to see Josh go on to run a larger community because I care enough about him to want to see him succeed personally. But he will be missed at Congregation Ohev Shalom.
