I met Josh through my previous boss, who highly recommended him as a good industry tutor to follow for his rich industry experience and kind personality. I was worried that I was too new to the industry, and might be rejected to join the team, but Josh accepted and encouraged me. The following year, he gave me extremely helpful training, and constant tips about game design. Josh is a great boss who made my experience at Dark Matter Inc. very fun. Besides his expertise in game design and profession in management, what I appreciate the most is that, as the leader, he offered the team a relaxing but intensively creative atmosphere to encourage constant, meaningful, and efficient discussions about design issues. His fast thinking often led to interesting solutions, from which I learned a lot. As an immigrant, I enjoyed Dark Matter so much because of the culture diversity. Thanks to Josh and CTO Rich Hilmer, who pulled a team with members from all of the world, and with perfect gender balance, which is rare but important in game industry. Everyone in the company is awesome and hard working. Josh did a great job of findingthe right people to form a harmonious working environment.
