  Working in a small team as a full stack developer on Millennia, an extensive hospitality management system, which includes access control, account management and reservation, restaurant and event booking systems to name just a few features. Development time is divided between three key components: • Desktop development is carried out using Magic XPA, a low-code development tool integrating Windows Forms Designer. Some desktop development is also written in C# using integrated .NET snippets. • Client websites are developed and maintained for desktop and mobile devices using the ASP.NET framework. The client side of websites are made up of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, while the server side code is written in C#. • Development and maintenance of the system web server using Magic uniPaas software and database management using Zen SQL.

  An ambitious industry sponsored final year project to provide trace view and analysis debugging software, built on the Visual Studio Code platform, for Renesas ARM-based microprocessors. Development work to date on the project has included: • Setting up a Visual Studio Code debugging environment, with support for the GDB debugger and ARM-based microprocessors, using the CDT GDB Debug Adapter. • Developing a RESTful server (Trace Server) in TypeScript using Express.js and Node.js. The Trace Server is based on the Trace Server Protocol and responds to user requests from the Trace Client via HTTP. • Developing a RESTful client (Trace Client) in TypeScript using Node.js and HTTP to send user requests to the Trace Server.

  A placement year completed as a Java developer within the Eclipse Department, contributing to development of the Renesas microprocessor Eclipse-based IDE, e2 Studio. Working as part of an experienced software development team utilising Agile development processes (Scrum meetings and two-week Sprints) and services (JIRA). Gained experience using Git and peer code reviews via Gerrit. Projects completed during placement year: • A Multicore Visualiser debugging feature for debugging complex programs on multicore devices • A Big Data (user logging) project calling C/C++ DLLs using Java Native Interface • Fixing Real-time refresh issues on the Expressions View debugging feature
