Having worked in a fast paced environment for many years, I am always motivated and constantly rely on my initiative. I am adaptable to change and always willing to learn new skills and take on new challenges and responsibilities. Organisation and punctuality are second nature to me, much like my impeccable time keeping and strong leadership. Due to my managerial support and creative outlook I was offered my current role as a senior supervisor, in charge of two teams at a regional award winning hotel, where I am renowned for my excellent customer service skills, forward thinking and prioritisation of tasks. Working within the hospitality industry has enabled me to grow in confidence, develop skills in leadership and delegation, to problem solve and to communicate more effectively both in a team and with the general public. I became passionate about current affairs and the economy which sparked my interest in politics, leading me to study under the expert guidance of Professor Lord Norton of Louth at the University of Hull. He in turn, encouraged me to apply for an internship in Westminster which I did through Andrew Stephenson MP where I gained an intense yet incredible insight into the heart of British politics. After having the privilege of sitting in on Prime Minister's questions, this gave me the motivation to help campaign with both Andrew Stephenson MP and Nigel Evans MP. My broad scope of political work experience both enhanced and developed my perspective of society, but more intuitively stimulated an interest in the background to politics and the fundamental purpose of parliament and the government. In studying the law making procedure, I became overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge and depth of detail consistent in every Act. Show less
