Vine was started by three high school kids wanting to do technology work when they could not find internships. They are now about midway through college and recently received their first patent. They are still active in Vine, developing the technology for market. My position as their adviser recently changed to Dir of Tech Development as they incorporate, fund, and launch their company. San Diego's only professional youth modern dance company, a non-profit corporation, Stella Nova Dance Company, the company-in-residence at San Diego Danceworks, was a professional youth dance company that focused on the artistry, professionalism, and talent that teens possess, creating beautiful, accessible performances about earth-consciousness and the human condition that transform children and adults. The company directors provided a nurturing environment, professional training, and a creative outlet for them to grow, not only as dancers, but as individual thinkers and collaborators for our future world. Stella Nova was a green, youth-based, professional modern dance company, which offered training, rehearsals and performance experience to the San Diego community for youth ages, 12-18. Stella Nova's outstanding artistic success in a difficult economic climate led to career opportunities for the directors and dancers alike, and so in September of 2010 Stella Nova successfully released her last group of maturing dancers into the community, ending a two year process of birth, growth, and development, and ended operations in December of 2010.
