I organised at the University of Sydney branch of the NTEU, one of the largest branches of the union in the country. While preparing for a round of sector-leading enterprise bargaining agreement negotiations, I led the development of a new approach to work health and safety organising and consultation. Working with the union's Health and Safety Representatives, I ensured compliance with state legislation and regulation, as well as developed a new consultative Work Health and Safety Committee with University representatives to lead the consultation on returning to campus post-COVID lockdowns. I organised the National Tertiary Education Union at the Australian Catholic University.I supported enterprise bargaining campaigns, helping union members negotiate and achieve a quality collective agreement. Before moving to the Australian Catholic University Branch, I was at the Western Sydney University Branch, supporting members and staff at The College through their successful and sector-leading enterprise bargaining campaign, achieving employer superannuation contributions for casual employees that are significantly above the statutory minimum. Communications and Campaign Organiser

Mar 2016 - Sep 2016
Whilst also maintaining the Union's digital communication strategy, I facilitated the NTEU's Federal Election Campaign in four target NSW Federal Divisions - Page, Banks, Reid, and Gilmore.I built the Union's member and supporter network, and successfully converted online supporters to offline activists by embedding best-practice digital marketing and campaigning in the communication work of the Union in NSW.The campaign engaged with members, supporters, university managements, and the wider community with a message of Defending Higher Education from fee deregulation and funding cuts. In part due to the Union's campaign, fee deregulation and cuts were ruled out by the Federal Government before the election. Show less
