      This project involves planning, implementing and evaluating the VCH region's first recovery college, completely online. We will establish two pilot sites -- with VCH and two branches of the Canadian Mental Health Association (North and West Vancouver and Vancouver-Fraser).A recovery college is a unique learning centre where peers with lived experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges, family members, mental health professionals and community members work collaboratively and on equal terms to co-develop and co-deliver courses on a range of topics that support well-being and recovery. My role involves:• Working closely with research team including peer researchers, VCH Research Institute stakeholders, and senior academics.• Co-facilitating 12 meetings with a team of 14 peers/people with lived experience of mental illness, staff, managers, and external knowledge users to create vision, plan, and address potential roadblocks (using implementation science) for the roll-out of two pilot recovery college courses.• Create and administer survey assessing co-production and recovery knowledge (n = 38).• Create and monitor project plan, budget, goals, objectives, timelines, and ethics application in consultation with PI to achieve roll-out of two pilot courses.• Chair meetings to ensure effective planning, collaboration with, and reporting to, researchers, Steering Committee, and Peer Advisory Committee.• Collaborate on multi-partner and multi-stakeholder (service users, peers, managers) evaluation plan at organizational, systems, and individual level.• Grant writing.       Our CIHR and Michael Smith Foundation funded research aims to evaluate the implementation of the Canadian Recovery Guidelines into mental health (housing) services across Canada. I work with researchers at UBC and McGill University to coordinate local implementation efforts at Coast Mental Health, a Vancouver-based non-profit supporting people with mental illness to access housing, employment, education, and support services.My role, using implementation science, involved screening and selecting service users (living with mental illness), managers, staff and external knowledge users for a local Implementation Team (IT); facilitating structured meetings with the IT to develop a recovery-oriented intervention; collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; assisting administrative aspects of the research; and developing knowledge translation activities.       We explored the access and participation experiences of people with disabilities across B.C. in sport and physical activity. This project is a SSHRC-funded partnership development program between UBC School of Kinesiology and viaSport BC. My role involved:• Coordinating research with two community disability organizations using Community-Based Participatory Methods. We developed a province-wide online survey and I designed the interview guide for, and completed, 13 semi-structured interviews with people with disabilities and staff.• Facilitating discussion and activities, analysing data, and completing a summative report from a community event with the University Neighbourhood Association (UNA) at UBC.• Organising and co-facilitating a community dialogue meeting between senior UNA residents with mobility impairments and UBC physical activity leaders. As a result, a Kinesiologist conducted regular specialised exercise classes for residents.• Coordinating bi-weekly team reporting for developmental evaluation and capturing reflections on the process and challenges of a partnership research project.       viaSport is the lead agency for developing amateur sport in the Province of British Columbia. In this role I researched and helped design frameworks for understanding the best practices of how sport organizations at all levels provide safe sport experiences, developed resources for operationalising best practices, regularly consulted a provincial working group, and coordinated data collection through semi-structured interviews to be utilised at solutions-building workshops with provincial sport leaders. Additionally, I helped facilitate activities at the National Safe Sport Summit led by the Coaching Association of Canada. Through deep consultation with key individuals across the sector, we aim to develop solutions for shifting the system in B.C. towards creating sport experiences that are safe. Our intended impact is for a positive sport environment to exist in B.C. where more children are safe because organisations have appropriate mechanisms in place to effectively prevent and address abuse in sport.
